Chad Thompson

Guitar, Mandolin, & Ukulele Teacher

Chad Thompson has been obsessed with everything music since he first heard The Beatles as a very young child. Since then, music has been an inescapable passion in his life that has led him to many exciting experiences and has helped him travel and see the world. Since graduating from UNCC, Chad has been performing music professionally for the last 10 years and has been a part of many amazing productions ranging from Broadway-style theatre work to contemporary, avant-garde performance art.

Chad began teaching music lessons in college as a way to pay for his studies; however, he quickly realized that teaching music was something that he was just as passionate about as playing music itself. Chad writes, “Seeing youth – the future of the world – making strong, personal connections with all of the great art and music out there is truly inspiring and humbly reminds me of why I became an artist to begin with.”

We are delighted to have Chad on faculty at Charlotte Academy of the Arts teaching Guitar, Bass, Double Bass, Mandolin, and Ukulele. Chad brings to his teaching extensive performance experience as well as a deep understanding of music theory, notation, and history.
