Kindermusik is the world’s leading provider of early childhood music-based education. Charlotte Academy of the Arts is proud to partner with Kindermusik by Missy, who achieved the prestigious designation as a Kindermusik Top Program.
What to expect
In Kindermusik, every class is an adventure. Children and their grown-ups sing, dance, giggle, play instruments, travel on imaginative journeys, and share stories together — all while building real developmental skills through music and movement.
Classes are designed for babies, toddlers, and young children, with age-specific levels that meet each child right where they are:
Foundations (ages 0-1)
Exploring sounds, objects, and movement while parents and caregivers deepen their bond with baby
Level 1 (ages 1-2)
Building confidence through movement, language, and early music concepts
Level 2 (ages 2-3)
Channeling big energy and bigger ideas through singing, dancing, and instrument play

At the heart of our program is Missy Wilson, owner of Kindermusik with Missy, who holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education and brings over two decades of experience to every class. Missy creates a space where every child feels celebrated and every family feels at home.

Kindermusik & KeyNotes Teacher
Missy holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music Education, which has allowed her to transform the lives of school age children through music and movement for nearly 2 decades. When her 2 children were born, she discovered the fun that can come with making music with very young children, which led her to becoming a licensed Kindermusik educator. She opened Kindermusik with Missy in 2017 and the rest is history! In 2025, Missy received the honor of having Kindermusik with Missy be named a Top Program by Kindermusik International. We are so excited to partner with Missy to bring Kindermusik and KeyNotes classes to Charlotte Academy of the Arts! Missy writes, “I'm looking forward to being not only your child's music class teacher, but also your educational coach, helping you understand how your child is developing musically, cognitively, and socially. All Kindermusik are 45 minutes and meet weekly in person with Ms. Missy. Classes begin the week of August 31, 2026 and are held on Mondays.
- Foundations (ages 0-1): 12:30 pm
- Level 1 (ages 1-2): 9:30 am or 11:30 am
- Level 2 (ages 2-3): 10:30 am
Between sessions, families have access to the Kindermusik app and online platform, where you can stream class music, enjoy narrated e-books, explore instrument play, and more — anytime, anywhere.
What’s included
Classes are once per week held at Charlotte Academy of the Arts in Studio 12. And the learning doesn’t stop when class ends! Kindermusik provides families with music, stories, and activities to enjoy together throughout the week — reinforcing what was learned in class and making every day a little more musical.
What’s next
Kindermusik is just the beginning! Graduates of the program may move into Little KeyNotes group piano class, designed for ages 4 to 6 and a natural next step for young musicians.
At Charlotte Academy of the Arts, young performers also thrive in our Mini Stars performing arts classes, a vibrant, age-appropriate introduction to singing, dancing, and storytelling through beginning acting. From babies to adults, the Academy is a home for the performing arts at every age and every stage.
