SING!
This PopArts night is all about finding your voice. Inspired by the world of SING!, we’ll explore the music genres that light up the film.. pop, soul, jazz, and rock.. and what makes each one feel unique. You’ll craft your own microphone, learn about mic technique, vocal breathing, vocal warm ups, and sing songs like “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” with the new friends you make a PopArts!
What to expect
The stage is yours tonight! You’ll craft your very own prop mic and learn about the musical styles in SING! Then it’s time to put it all together with vocal warm-ups, mic technique, breathing exercises, and yes, actual singing. Then settle in with pizza and watch SING! on the big screen.

Know that kid who narrates their whole day in song? This is their night. They’ll learn actual vocal technique disguised as pure fun, make friends who share their love of music, put those new vocal skills to use watching SING!, and have a 100% great time.
Class details
PopArts happens on the second Friday of every month, 5–9pm. Each event has its own theme, arts focus, and film. This month we’re turning up the volume with a full SING! experience. All supplies are provided, so just bring yourself and your best singing voice (or the one you’re about to discover).
What’s included
$40 gets you the full PopArts experience — arts event, pizza dinner (gluten free option available), and movie included. Be sure to bring a refillable water bottle.
Prefer to skip dinner or bring your own? Grab a $30 ticket and still enjoy the arts portion and the movie.
Cameryn Bost
Music and Musical Theatre Teacher
Cameryn Bost is an educator and performer in the Charlotte/Indian Trail area. She currently teaches at Chantilly Montessori as their Music and Theater teacher. There, she has directed many musicals and performances. Cameryn has been nominated for two years in a row as the Up & Coming Arts Educator of the Year for CMS Schools. She is also the Interim Director of Children's Music at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Cameryn also has an impressive performance resume of both musical theatre and opera. Some favorite roles include Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Young Cosette in Les Miserables, Cecilia/Beatriz in Behold the Man, Hannchen in The Cousin from Nowhere, and Charity in Barnum. When not teaching, Cameryn spends her time reading, performing, and hanging out with her cat. Cameryn has worked with the Academy for several years now and is looking forward to this summer and PopArts!Let’s be honest...
PopArts is for the kids. But it’s also a little bit for you.
From 5 to 9pm on the second Friday of every month, your child is in great hands creating, moving, singing, making friends, and experiencing the arts in a way that’s genuinely fun, not forced. No phones or iPads. No scrolling. Just real connection, real creativity, and a really good time.
We built PopArts because kids deserve more evenings like this where they’re engaged, inspired, and surrounded by other kids. Because the arts are best experienced together, not alone on a couch.
