The Academy is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Kindermusik with Missy, bringing Kindermusik classes to the Matthews area beginning this fall! For our founder and owner Regina Ziliani, this announcement is deeply personal, and a long time coming.
“Kindermusik has held a special place in my heart for decades,” says Regina. Back in the 1990s, she was a certified Kindermusik educator herself — and the experience left a lasting impression on how she thinks about music, children, and the art of teaching. “What sets Kindermusik apart from other early childhood programs isn’t just the music. It is the intentionality. There is deep research and care woven into every song, every movement activity, every developmental stage. A great early childhood program meets children exactly where they are. It respects the way little ones actually learn.. through play, repetition, imagination, and a loving relationship. It invites parents in as true partners in their child’s music journey. And it plants seeds of curiosity and joy that grow quietly for a lifetime. Kindermusik has done all of this beautifully for nearly five decades, and I have always held the deepest respect for it.”
Bringing Kindermusik to Charlotte Academy of Music, as Regina puts it, feels like coming full circle.
If you haven’t heard of Kindermusik, let us introduce you! Kindermusik is the world’s leading music-and-movement program for children from birth through age 7. Founded in 1978, it has helped millions of children around the world build a strong foundation for a lifetime love of learning, all through the power and joy of music. The program is rooted in early childhood development research, and its approach is as fun as it is meaningful.
Every class is an experience: children sing, dance, play instruments, hop, giggle, go on imaginative adventures, cuddle, and share stories while quietly building real, lasting developmental skills. We’re talking about early literacy and language, cognitive development, social-emotional growth, and both fine and gross motor skills. Science confirms what parents already sense: young children thrive on music, and Kindermusik is designed with that truth at its core.
One of the things we love most about Kindermusik is that the learning doesn’t stop when class does. Every Kindermusik experience is intentionally designed to extend into the home — with music, stories, and activities that families can enjoy together throughout the week. This isn’t just a fun bonus. The repetition strengthens neural connections in your child’s developing brain, builds classroom confidence, and gives parents meaningful tools to support their child’s growth every single day.

Our Kindermusik classes will be led by Missy Wilson of Kindermusik with Missy, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about this partnership.
Missy holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Music Education and spent nearly two decades in music education with school-age children. When her own two sons came along, she discovered a deep love for early childhood music and in 2017, she opened Kindermusik with Missy. Since then, she has built a warm, joyful community of families who learn and grow together through music.
In 2025, Missy was recognized as a Kindermusik Top Program — a distinction that speaks to the quality, care, and commitment she brings to every single class.
